Local Businesses. Stronger Together

Supporting, connecting and promoting the businesses that help Porters Lake and our surrounding communities thrive.

Who We Are.

Supporting Businesses. Strengthening Community.

The Porters Lake Business Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening our local business community.

Established in 2018 and becoming a Business Improvement District (BID) in 2019, the PLBA works to create opportunities for businesses to connect, gain visibility, access resources and play an active role in the community around them.

Through collaboration with our members, community partners and government, we’re working to help make Porters Lake a great place to live, work, visit and do business.

Our Mission.

Building a Stronger Local Economy.

Our mission is to support, strengthen and promote the Porters Lake business community while contributing to the long-term economic prosperity of our area.

We believe thriving local businesses create stronger communities and we’re committed to helping create an environment where businesses of all sizes can succeed.

What We Do

What Matters to Us.

Community
We believe strong local businesses and strong communities go hand in hand.

Collaboration
We’re stronger when businesses, community organizations, residents and government work together.

Inclusion
We want businesses of different sizes, industries, experiences and backgrounds to feel welcome and represented.

Progress
We look for new ideas and opportunities that help our business community continue to grow and adapt.

Leadership
We advocate for our business community and work to ensure local businesses have a seat at the table.

Where We’re Going.

Our Priorities

Support existing businesses by providing useful resources, opportunities, promotion and connections.

Promote Porters Lake and the businesses that contribute to our community.

Encourage economic growth by helping make our area an attractive place to start, grow and invest in a business.

Represent our business community by building relationships with government, community, organizations and other partners.

Above all, our priority is providing meaningful value to our members. We want the work of the PLBA to reflect what our local businesses actually need, which means listening, learning and evolving alongside them.

Our Business Improvement District

The Heart of the Porters Lake BID

The PLBA became a Business Improvement District in 2019, bringing businesses within our designated district together to support economic development, business promotion and improvements within our community.

Our BID includes commercial properties throughout the designated Porters Lake district. Businesses located within these boundaries are automatically members of the Porters Lake Business Association.

BID Boundaries: The Porters Lake Business Improvement District includes designated commercial properties within the area bounded by Highway 7, Stella Drive, and Porters Lake Station Road, including properties from Alps Road to the west end of Stella Drive and between Highway 7 and Meadowview Drive.

Outside the BID? Businesses in Porters Lake and surrounding communities can still become part of the PLBA through Associate Membership.
